There is no doubt that a road race event has the potential to build up a lot of trash. As an event organizer you should consider your plan for dealing with trash. You should look at:
– Does the area I am in have trash receptacles? Should I rent more receptacles?
– How will I clean up excess trash? Excess trash on the course? Can I use Volunteers?
Road races can build up a lot of trash around the Water Station areas, around the starting area, around where runners prepare before the race and hang out after. You also want to leave the area that your event is in the same way as before your event happened or cleaner. As more than just a courtesy you want to do this so you don’t receive a potential fine.
