Prizes

“You are never a loser until you quit trying” ~ Mike Ditka

If people are coming out to your event to participate in an event that supports a good cause, helps out an organization or if they are just coming out for physical fitness they are already winners. Participants should be rewarded for their efforts already by coming out to your event. You can create an even greater experience for the participants by providing prizes and giveaways for runners. Here are some ways you can go about working with prizes:

–          Top 3 overall Male and Female finishers, Top 3 Male and Female age group finishers

–          Random Door Prize Drawings

–          Best Dressed Prizes

–          Largest Team Prizes

–          Most Money Raised Prizes (For charity events)

Depending on what you can obtain for your event, you can have prizes for more than the top finishers of the event. Having the opportunity to do this will add a new level to your event that makes it more fun than competitive.

What should I have for my prizes?

Here is a short list of some of the prizes that have been given out at road racing events:

Medals, Trophies, Cash, Gift Cards, Ribbons, T-Shirts, Movie Tickets, Homemade Pies, Watches, Shoes, Turkeys, Plane Tickets, Beer, Ice Cream Cake and More!

Prizes can come in all shapes and sizes, but participants like having the opportunity to get a little extra out of their event participation. It truly makes the event a lot more fun.
