Where would a road race event be without the complementary t-shirt each participant gets? Now not every event has a budget to purchase t-shirts, but they should be highly considered for the following reasons:
– T-shirts provide exposure for future events when participants wear them after the race
– T-shirts are good giveaways for participants and get people excited
– T-shirts are not over-the-top expensive on a budget and they can be paid for by a sponsor (See Budgeting Section)
T-shirts can also be incorporated in managing your Volunteers. Different colored t-shirts will help distinguish between participants and volunteers. Free t-shirts for volunteers will also make their experience better because they are getting some compensation out of the event. It also gives them a memorable souvenir that they can also wear and to promote potential future events!
